Hyperloop is a revolutionary mode of transportation that comprises of a sealed tube or a group of tubes that makes a pod with help of that one can travel free of air resistance with no friction at high speed. Hyperloop system can generate the speed average around 560 km/hr and reach up to the top speed of around 970 km which is considerably faster than bullet trains. This concept is first introduced by Elon Musk in 2012 and he released a model by a joint team venture from his company Tesla and SpaceX.
Recnetly, Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Hyper-loop Group his recent visit to India announced one such project and according to sources he has signed an MoU ( Memorandum of Understanding) with Maharashtra government.
The project is scheduled to be kicked off in the next three years and after the testing has been done it is expected to be completed by 2025. The proposed project route will link central Pune, Navi Mumbai International Airport, and Mumbai. And If everything goes by flow the distance between Mumbai and Pune of 140 km will cut to only 25-minutes.
This technology is going to revolutionize India and will curb the traffic problem if successfully implemented across the country. Experts say that the system has the potential to reach speed up to 1,000 km per hour and will be faster, cheaper and cleaner.
