In the world full of smartphones everyday some new feature get added to them to that make them different from others. In the latest Mobile World Congress meet we have witnessed a lot of new technologies and features that are going to shape of our future in the upcoming time.

Pop-up selfie camera could be one of them. Android Co-founder, Andy Rubin's start up the Essential recently, requested to file this patent and the patent has been granted to them. This patent will change the front camera in your phone and clicking selfies experience forever.

The patent reveals that your smartphone will have a front facing camera with pop feature at the top of its frame that will come out when you are about to click a picture and go back hiding into the frame when you are not using it.

However, the start up has not made clear when they will implement this unique feature in their phones but the way Rubin touted about it on Twitter it seems like we can see this feature in the coming Essential Phone 2.

The Galaxy A80 is the first Samsung phone this year that includes an immersive full-screen display. The phone introduces a rotatory camera housed in a motorized slider. ... A motorized slider pops up the camera assembly and the camera module can flip over to double as both – the selfie and the rear camera.

A pop-up selfie camera is a device that is able to take a selfie without having to hold out the phone with your arm fully extended. The camera pops up when you need it and can be used in both portrait and landscape mode.
The pop-up selfie camera has been available on phones like the Nokia 8 for years but only recently spread to other brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Asus, Motorola, and HMD Global. These latest offerings have been more advanced than earlier versions.

A truly Bezel-less phone calls for an innovative approach towards the front camera. It’s not a thing OEMs can ignore or mount underneath the display (yet), and the only remaining options are to either accommodate the sensor in a notch cut out or to opt for a slide-out camera mechanism.

The notch-trend is here to stay for a while longer (at least till Apple sticks to the concept), but quite a few Android OEMs now are experimenting with Slide-out cameras. These notch and bezel killers entail a few compromises, but they look veritably cool and perhaps touch a nostalgic chord in us. After all, Slider phones used to be a huge rage back in the day and we have now come full circle.
In 2019, we already have the second generation of slidder camera and pop-up camera phones, even from tier-1 brands like Samsung. In case you are interested, here are a few you can consider.
