The Moon and therefore the refore the Earth seem to be an equivalent average distance faraway from the Sun because the Moon orbits and the Earth orbits the Sun. the world and Moon are around 150 million kilometres (93 million miles) from the Sun on the average . Because the space is so great, light takes eight minutes to succeed in us (remember that light travels at 300,000 kilometres per second). meaning we wouldn't know for an additional eight minutes if the Sun stopped shining immediately .

The Moon follows the Earth in its orbit around the Sun because it orbits the Earth. The Moon may truly approach the Sun at a distance of 146,692,378 kilometres. The Moon, meanwhile, is the object that is furthest from Earth in the opposite circumstance.

On average, the distance between the Earth and the Sun is 149,600,000 kilometres. The average distance between the Earth and the Sun is one astronomical unit, or "au". Approximate distance between the Moon and Earth is 384,000 kilometres. The Moon will almost perfectly hide the Sun if it should align with it.

Given the current proportions, it is presumed that a satellite of a planet is as far from its host planet as the host planet is from the star for all practical purposes. When this point of view is challenged, one must deal with the issue of gravity since the star might easily grab the satellite and yank it out of the planet's gravitational pull.
