What is your opinion about teenagers as celebrities?

In today's society teens can take on professions and jobs that most adults would find difficult to even imagine. From ‘Instagram models’ who are posting selfies while having a hundred thousand followers, to bloggers or social media stars who make money from their profile. It's refreshing that young people want to show such extreme self-confidence and be in control of their own future these days.

However there is something different about them than those 30 years ago when Lady Gaga was born, or Katy Perry became famous on YouTube for her videos about crafting with glitter.

The social media is full of pictures of teenagers who are also celebrities. They have gained a lot of fame by acting in movies, televisions, and reality shows. Well, in my opinion, they are been given a lot of attention that they actually do not require. Such fame, attention, and star struck thoughts are taking away their innocence and education from them.

These teenagers who have turned celebrities are mostly into makeups, buying luxury accessories and clothing, and travelling to exotic destinations. All they want is people to look at them. This way, they are losing out important aspects that are to be learnt in this age such as discipline, education, and of course spending quality time with family as kids of their age do.

I would like to request the parents of such teenager celebrities to actually cut down their media exposure and limelight given to them. If your kid is a celebrity, there is no problem. However, keeping an eye on their activities is important for a parent to know whether your kid is going on a right path or not. This is just an advice, rest is up to the parents as they know better about their kids.
