In the past few years, India has emerged as one the best cricket teams in the world. Their last series loss before this one was back in 2016 against Australia. So yes, this 2-1 defeat is a big deal.

What makes it a bigger deal is the fact that it is the first ODI series lost in Virat Kohli’s captainship. Since 2016, India has beaten all the good teams like Australia, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. With this loss, the team’s winning streak has ended.

Now all the cricket enthusiasts are looking forward a five-match Test series against England which is starting on August 1 in Edgbaston.

The last series played away from the home soil against England, which was in 2014, was also lost. The series is considered as a low point in the Indian captain’s career. The recent defeat thus, has added to the injury. This makes the coming series even more hopefully looked upon by the fans.
