Roasting and baking both are the major part of cooking. The major difference between roasting and baking is oven temperature. When the temperature is above 400°F, then roasting happens. Meanwhile for baking the temperature should be 375°F and below. Roasting involves foods like meat, potatoes chicken, etc means solid like structure whereas baking needs foods like cupcakes and cookies. At the same time, it is important to consider that roasting occurs in uncovered roasting pan while it is not necessary in baking.
