WiFi is not invented because it is not invented by one person. WiFi technology is simply the name of a network or technology, based on another technical and communication protocol.

 

WiFi has been discovered and developed by many people, including Fenech engineer Louis Pouzin, Australian electronic engineer John O'sullivan, ideologist of the creation of the process called WiFi in 1997 by the International Telecommunication Union, and English engineer Sir Nez rajn.

 

The development of WiFi dates back to the 1990s, when technical organizations agreed that a new wireless communication protocol was needed for computer networks. Under the project guidance of ARPANET (), IEEE formed a technical committee focused on the development of wireless local area networks (WLAN). Subsequently, various industrial criteria were created and WiFi technology was coordinated and recognized.

 

Today, WiFi technology is widely used and gives us the advantage of a wireless internet connection, which facilitates us to connect our devices to the internet.

Over several decades, many advancements and partnerships led to the creation of Wi-Fi. Although the exact moment or person involved in its conception is difficult to determine, the development of Wi-Fi may be dated back to the 20th century.

 

Wi-Fi has its roots in the efforts of well-known scientists and inventors who helped to establish wireless networking. Nikola Tesla, who in the early 20th century imagined a world with wireless communication, is a significant player in this trip. Future developments in wireless technology were made possible by Tesla's research of radio waves and wireless transmission.

 

Guglielmo Marconi is credited with creating the first wireless network for communication when he successfully sent radio signals over the Atlantic Ocean in 1901. Marconi's contributions constituted a critical turning point in the development of wireless technology and opened the way for subsequent advancements.

 

Moving forward to the middle of the 20th century, packet switching—a cornerstone of data communication—was first proposed, for future networking technologies, such as Wi-Fi, the concept of dividing data into bits for effective communication and rebuilding them at the destination proved to be an essential building block.

Hawaii deployed ALOHAnet, a groundbreaking computer networking system that used radio frequencies for wireless communication, in 1971. The foundation for the data transfer over wireless networks used by Wi-Fi was established by this early experiment.

 

The actual accomplishment was made in 1997 when the 802.11 working group was formed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, or IEEE, standards for wirelessly local area networking (WLAN).
