India national football team is currently ranked around 136th in the FIFA Men’s World Rankings according to the latest official FIFA update released in April 2026. India recently improved its position after some positive international performances and victories.

The Indian football team, also known as the Blue Tigers, has been trying to improve its global standing through tournaments like the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, SAFF Championship, and other international competitions. India’s highest-ever FIFA ranking was 94th, achieved in 1996.

Honestly, while India is still far behind top football nations, many fans feel the country’s football infrastructure, ISL growth, and young talent development are slowly helping the team improve internationally.
