Nutritional deficit, work stress, sleep disorder etc are certain factors that influences our mood and well being. Research says that good food reciprocates the bad mood. Eating certain foods bring about changes in our behavior, physiology and mood. Some of these foods are;
1) Foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids are considered as the key nutrient for mood boosting and overall brain development. Increase in intake of foods such as Alaskan salmon, fish, sardines, flax and chia seeds and walnuts etc. which are rich in DHA and EPA, alter the brain chemicals that reduce the symptoms of anxiety and uplift the mood.
2) Coffee or a cup of hot cocoa provides a quick boost in social mood. It contains compounds like chlorogenic acid that influence the mood. But do remember excess of it can also make you sleepless and irritable. Another good option is Indian tea made with addition of various herbs and spices like cardamom and black pepper.
Chocolates are also the greatest mood up lifters. They are best in giving more content and calm feeling.

Foods like spinach, beans, lentils, almonds, blueberries, beans, avocados, carrots, bananas etc are great source of natural sugar, vitamins and fiber. They work together to keep your body fit and as well as stabilising your mood.
4) Recent studies have found a link between human gut and stress, anxiety and mood. Pumping up on probiotics like Korean kimchi, tempeh, miso, sauerkraut and off course yogurt increase serotonin levels. These healthy bacteria improve our gut health and mood.
