A relevant question on the International Tea Day. Also, now that the winters have taken its toll in the Capital city, chai lovers tend to look for tea spots wherever they can. Well, Delhi has many chai stalls and cafes that have the potential of making your day Beauteaful.

Of these tea stalls, some serve delectable parathas with tea, some have spicy pakoras, and others’ tea game is so strong that they just don’t need anything to compliment it.

Being a Delhiite, I have always revered in the fact that this city never disappoints you when it comes to a hot cup of tea, be it any season. Listed below are some of my favorite tea spots in Delhi.

1. Cha Bar

Bibliophiles, this one is for you. We all know tea tastes best with a good book in hand, and Cha Bar is here at our service to fulfill this wish of ours. Cha Bar is a café which serves an amalgamation of hot tea and wonderful books. It’s a win-win situation after you visit this paradise. It is in the Oxford Book Store, Connaught Place.

2. JP Tea Stall

It’s the tea stall of Delhi School of Economics, in North Campus. You can see a crowd of students always harrowing around this spot having tea and snacks, be it any time of the day, any season of the year. It’s a must visit spot in North Campus, and one aspect of students’ life there.

3. Firdaus Mithai Shop

Fan of Jalebis, and old relics? You can complement it with a hot cup of chai at this mithai shop in Purani Dilli. In the vicinity of Mirza Ghalib’s Haveli, it can be your perfect tea spot if you are a history and poetry lover.

4. Moolchand Parathe Wala

If you enjoy street food as much as you enjoy tea, visit Moolchand Parathe Wala, opposite Moolchand metro station. The Aloo, Gobhi, Paneer, and Mixed parathas served there with tea will surely be your adda after you visit it once.

5. Kunzum Travel Café

The name suggests that it is a stopping spot for the travelers, but it actually is much more than that. It is the place for “Chai-pe-charcha” kind of people, as it keeps hosting various open mics, book launches, and other events, which you can enjoy with a hot brew.

It has a cool interior which adds to the tea-fun. It is situated in Hauz Khas.

6. Elma’s tea

Another tea-rendezvous spot at Hauz Khas, Elma’s tea takes you back to the origins of tea which lie in the English culture. The ambiance, the style of tea serving, and the other dishes served there are much sophisticated and gives the feeling of high tea parties. Buttered croissants, jams, cookies, biscuits, are the delectable snacks you can order here.
