Well, at best, the question is not only controversial but extremely subjective. Why do you want to compare apples and oranges?! Both of these sports have their separate appeal, with their unique fan base. You simply cannot compare football and cricket on any ground.
Cricket is more popular in Asia and Australia, Football in Europe and Africa. (Much like Basketball and Rugby in the USA!) Each of the sports has millions and millions of fans. The presiding body of each of them plays in billions of dollars. The athletes on both sides make big money (and have to work equally hard). Both of them give spectators some very thrilling moments and memorable matches. What Sir Donald Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar are to cricket, Pelé and Diego Marado
Football and Cricket, both of them are adored by an equally frenzied fan base. There’s no way one can answer which sport is better. They are perfectly balanced. And one has to be either biased or ignorant to take one name over other.
