There are basically three ocean movements that are currents, tides, and waves. The ocean currents are very useful to fishermen. Basically, these currents attract more plankton and as we know plankton attracts more fishes. So, more plankton leads to more fish. This leads to more fishing and also the development of fishing occupations. In many places, it is seen that tides are also useful in fishing. High tides bring more an more fishes too.

Which ocean movement is useful to fisherman?

There are basically three types of water movements namely currents, waves, and tides. Waves are generally caused by the action of winds on the surface of ocean water. Tides are the rise and fall of oceans twice a day and Currents develop under the water and flow constantly on the surface of the ocean. Currents encourage more fishing activity in those areas as there are fish in large numbers because of the growth of fish food plankton near currents. Tides are very helpful in fishing as well as fish are found in large numbers during high tides.

The three different movements of water in the oceans are waves, currents, and tides. Passive movement of the water in one direction is called waves which occur due to the movement of the wind. The rise and fall of the water due to the gravitational pull of the Moon and Sun on the oceans results in tides. There are two types of ocean currents, warm and cold. Places where warm and cold currents meet are favorable for the growth of plankton. These plankton are the food for the fish. Hence where there are ocean currents fish grow in plenty which helps fishermen earn a good livelihood. Fishermen earn their livelihood by getting a good catch during high tide too as many fish come closer to the shore during high tides.
