As for us Indians, it’s no good news because it’s not India. With an unsatisfactory performance in its match with Ireland, India lost by 1-0 from Ireland. So it’s Ireland, who has become the first team to enter the quarter finals of Women’s Hockey World Cup.
India lost seven penalties against Ireland in the match, while the winning team grabbed the first one itself. Now India will play against USA to safeguard its position. Currently India is on the third number, and USA on fourth, both having the same number of points.
Now if India fails to beat USA today, it will have to miss out on the quarterfinals in London. Fans are blaming the Indian Women’s Hockey coach, Sjoerd Marijne , for the poor performance.
