Who can overtake Mukesh Ambani and become the richest man in India?

Until a year back, Bill Gates was the world’s richest human. And he was consistently at the top of that list for years. However, not very long ago, Jeff Bezos took him over, thanks to incredible expansion (and innovation) of his company Amazon.

What I am trying to say is that although Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian – and he has been there for quite some years now – there are many people who can overtake him in the coming days. There’s always that possibility, given there are 121 billionaires in the country. But yes, it will be a tough ride for anyone who can do that. Because ifRIL (Reliance Industries Limited) is Microsoft, India doesn’t have a phenomenon like Amazon who has the source, strategy, andvision to do that.

In the latest Forbes list, it’s given that Mukesh Ambani has assets worth over $38 billion. Next in the list is Azim Premji whose net worth is $19 billion. You can see, the difference between the first and second spot is 50 percent. So, like mentioned, taking over Mukesh Ambani as the richest person in India is going to be difficult for anyone in India.

Besides, there are a handful of billionaires in India who are fast emerging on the scene and can get to the top in the coming years, like Ajay Primal, Micky Jagtiani, Sameer Gehlaut and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.
