The cell, first found by Robert Hooke around 1665, has a long and fascinating history that has led to most of today's scientific breakthroughs. Cell is a general term that refers to a single living entity within the body of an organism that has the capacity for growth and self-replication. In other words, inside each of us, there exist trillions upon trillions of tiny organisms that essentially regulate our entire lives.
