Who is Altaf Bukhari? The man who could be next Jammu and Kashmir CM?

The Kashmir Assembly was dissolved and kept as a suspended animation from June 2018. On 21st November 2018, PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti met Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik and claimed to form a government with the help of National Conference and Congress. This move was taken by these 3 parties to stop BJP from horse trading and accordingly they came with the idea of forming a government.

And Altaf Bukhari of PDP was speculated as the next chief Minister of Kashmir in the coalition government. But Altaf Bukhari denied that he is the Chief Ministerial candidate .He told that Chief Minister will be selected from the leaders. And this move is not about chief minister .

Altaf Bukhari is a MLA from Amira Kadal constituency in Sri Nagar. He was the richest candidate in the state during 2014 state assembly elections with Rs. 84 crores. He was a finance minister in the previous government and held many portfolios like education, labour and R&B.

In September 2018 Altaf Bukhari also welcomed the formation of J&K Civil Society Coordination Committee, in order to form a coalition government in Kashmir with the help of NC , to defend the article 35-A and to fight communal force.

Unfortunately these development of forming the government was went to drain when Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the assembly on November 22nd . So there will be no coalition government and no chance of Altaf Bukhari becoming chief minister of Kashmir in the near future.
