India claimed independence on 15 August 1947 from British rule. The President of India is the ceremonial head of the state of India. The 14th and current president of Republic India is Ram Nath Kovind. He was born in the Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on 1st October 1945. he completed his education as a law student from DAVV college, Kanpur. After completion of his graduation, he went to Delhi and applied for the civil service examination. He took the oath as president of India on 25 July 2017.
