Nobody can stop you to touch the sky when you have decided to fly and this made it happen, Avani Chaturvedi by becoming the first Indian woman to fly a fighter jet solo. At the age of 24, she has made this history and became the first Indian woman to fly a fighter jet solo.
She flew a Russian made fighter jet MiG-21 Bison for 30 minutes at the Jamnagar airbase to achieve this remarkable feat. MiG-21 Bison is an aircraft that is known for its highest landing and take-off speed (340Kmph) in the world.
Along with Avani, two other women Bhawana Kanth and Mohana Singh underwent fighter pilot training in the Indian Air force. Growing up in a small town named Deolond near Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, Avani Chaturvedi never thought even in her wildest dreams that one day she would become the first-ever Indian woman to fly a supersonic jet all alone.
