Kādambari is a romantic novel in Sanskrit. It was written by Banabhatta but he did not complete the novel.After his death the novel was completed by Banabhatta's son Bhushanabhatta, according to the outline story laid out by his late father. It is in a way divided into Purvabhaga (first part) written by Banabhatta, and Uttarabhaga (second part) by Bhushanabhatta. Chandrapeed and Mahashweta are the hero & heroine of this romantic novel.

Kadambari is a Sanskrit novel written by Banabhatta in the first half of the 7th century CE.He did not survive to finish his novel and hence the second half of the novel was completed by his son Bhushanabhatta according to the story line written earlier by his late father. Kadambari is a very long novel and has many subplots in it.The heroine of the novel appears only when the novel reaches the midpoint.The book describes the love story of two set of lovers through incarnation.
