According to the fact that certain PFI cadres have joined international terrorist organisations, "PFI and its partners, affiliations, or fronts have been working secretly to enhance radicalization of one population by generating a sense of insecurity in the country."

According to the government, PFI cadres have perpetrated violent crimes and murders with the express purpose of upsetting public calm and quiet and spreading fear among the populace.

The move was applauded by the chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Assam, who claimed that PFI constituted a threat to the unity and integrity of the nation.

Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, applauded the central government's move to outlaw the PFI, which he claimed attempted to undermine the integrity, sovereignty, and law and order of the nation.
