Born on 15 June 1994, Indian table tennis player Manika Batra is playing table tennis since she was 4 years old. Despite being the best Indian table tennis player in Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, she was not given any monetary reward from the Government of India.
Delhi’s Manika Batra won four medals in Gold Coast Commonwealth Games: 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze.
According to the governmental policies, Manika Batra, who was one of the winners in Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, should receive a price money, which she still hasn’t received.
For the medals won, Delhi Government has to reward a total amount of 1.7 crore rupees to the table tennis player. The breakage of the amount is as – 1 crore rupees for 2 Gold medals; 40 lakh rupees for one silver; and 30 lakh rupees for a bronze medal.
