Even after all these months, PUBG remains one of the most PvE popular games across the world. However, with its more aggressive approach and constant updates, Fortnite is giving it a very tough competition. In fact, the later generated $25 million revenue in its first 30 days on iOS.
For the sake of categorization, let’s just say that Fortnite is more popular in USA and PlayerUnknown’s Battleground in India. But both of them are a phenomenon in their own rights.

Talking about PUBG, only recently in mid-August, the game crossed 100 million combined downloads on iOS and Android. The feat came in just four months of launching the game in both the platforms.
Currently, on Google Play, the number of downloads for PUBG is “100,000,000+” It’s rated 4.5/5 stars with nearly 8.2 million ratings.
I couldn’t find the exact number of downloads on iTunes, but the game is rated 4.5 with 259.2K ratings.
In fact, PUBG was the most downloaded game in the last quarter of 2017.
There are no secrets as to why PUBG is so popular. It is one of the foremost battle Royale-style games that took the fun of COD and COS to a whole different level. The graphic in the game is unparalleled. And it isn’t just about the visuals. The overall gameplay and storytelling give to it a very realistic feeling. In addition, while the game has had bugs here and there, the team working behind has been very proactive to provide fixes.
Honestly, if I were to give credit to anyone for the game’s popularity, it has to be the team working on it. They looked to be an incredible bunch who has been proactively bringing newer updates and shades to the game. They are experimenting. They are taking risks. And I think this is one of the most commendable jobs given, usually, the developers get comfortable once they reach a success and revenue level.
The team at PUBG is constantly pushing the ropes, trying newer things. And this has kept the game very fresh and unique.
And, of course, not to sidestep the fact that they are also equally talented and passionate. To bring such an incredible game with heavy graphics on mobile devices, that requires an awful lot of work and talent
So, it’s really the hard work and commitment of the team why PUBG is so popular across the world. Because they are working to make it happen.
