Cristiano Ronaldo previously faced tax fraud allegations in Spain related to image rights income during his time at Real Madrid CF. In 2019, he accepted a settlement with Spanish authorities, agreed to pay a large fine, and received a suspended prison sentence.

Because the sentence was suspended and he had no serious prior criminal record, he did not actually go to jail. In Spain, first-time non-violent offenders with shorter sentences often avoid imprisonment under certain conditions.

Honestly, while celebrities can face serious legal and financial consequences for tax-related cases, Ronaldo’s case was resolved through settlement and suspended sentencing rather than actual jail time.

Before the fantastic match between Portugal and Spain, where Christiano Ronaldo scored his 51st hat trick goals, equals Spain's 3 goals and finished with a draw, Spanish news agencies were floating news of his suspended 2 years jail term in Spain. Christiano Ronaldo was accused of tax evading in Spain from 2011-2014.

Ronaldo was accused of tax evading worth $14.7m and he denied any wrong doing when he appeared in Spanish court last year. The Real Madrid and Portuguese football star was blamed of defrauding tax authorities in Spain regarding taxation of image rights.

But according to Spanish Media an agreement was reached between the Portuguese footballer and Spanish tax authorities . Christiano Ronaldo agrees to pay nearly 19 million Euro and serve 2 years suspended jail term. But in Spain up to 2 years jail term of first time offenders are usually suspended . It can be served in probation. So he need not go to jail.

Do you know Christiano Ronaldo never drinks, never smokes and never tattooed his body parts. His repulsion for alcohol is due to tragic death of his alcoholic father. As he is a regular blood donator, he avoids tattooing and smoking.
