Does medicare cover hearing aids ?

Medicare generally does not cover hearing aids or the routine exams required to fit them. Original Medicare (Parts A and B) excludes hearing aids entirely, and Part B only covers diagnostic hearing tests ordered by a doctor for medical conditions. However, some Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans may offer partial or full coverage for hearing aids, depending on the provider. Individuals relying solely on Original Medicare must pay the full cost out of pocket.
