
It is easier to forgive than forget and might differ for some. The quality of forgiveness is important because it benefits both the person forgiving and the one being forgiven. Forgiveness matters because it allows us to heal emotionally, leading to improved relationships, personal growth, better mental health, inner peace, compassion, and empathy, and to break negative cycles of holding grudges. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting or condoning wrongdoing, but it is about freeing oneself from the burden of anger and resentment to create space for growth and healing.
