Tomatoes are actually a fruit but considered a vegetable because its widely used in our kitchen.Tomatoes contain antioxidants which help reduce risk of high blood pressure and cholesterol in our body.Other nutrients in tomatoes help to boost heart health. Tomatoes get the red color because of the chemical lycopene present in it.Potassium present in the tomatoes helps in lowering blood pressure .Tomatoes are eaten raw in salads and also used in most of the recipes making it an important constituent of our diet.
