India’s gig workforce is expected to grow strongly by 2029–30. It could rise from around 7.7 million workers today to about 23.5 million (2.35 crore), which makes up around 4.1% of all jobs and 6.7% of non-farm employment.
This shows the sector will become much larger and more important in the job market.
