There are three kinds of braces: metal, clear, and elastic. The most common kind are metal. These can be custom-fitted for your teeth or you can have them made from a mold of your teeth. They work by aligning the top and bottom teeth together by attaching it to the top front and back molars with tooth colored brackets that you attach on each side of the arch wire. When they’re tightened, pressure is applied to both sides to pull everything in sync so that your bite is corrected.
