This is the first-ever test series win in Australia for India(and for any Asian country). It’s historic in every way possible.

(Although I wouldn’t go overboard to call the victory bigger than 1983 World Cup win, as overzealous Ravi Shastri did.)
So, it didn’t come as a big surprise that the world’s richest cricket board would go head-over-heel to reward the players and staff members with more money.
Following the victory, BCCI announced a bonus of Rs 15 lakh per match to the playing XI and Rs 7.5 lakh to the reserved platers. (The amount is equivalent to players’ match fee.)
So, the players who were in the team, like Kohli who played all the four test matches, their bonus totals to Rs 60 lakh. And those who just hung around, they made a bonus of Rs 30 lakh without playing even a single match. Insane!

In addition, the head coach Ravi Shastri and his assistants have been rewarded with Rs 25 lakh each.
Clearly, with the first-ever test series win in Australia and so much money, it’s a perfect 2019 start for the national men’s cricket team.
