Letsdiskuss Recently an explosion happened at the army's central ammunition depot which caused six-person dead, as they were involved in blasting anti-aircraft ammunition rounds. Actually, the scene was the pulsation depot is the center of the largest store of weapons, explosives, and ammunition. the depot is a hoard of all kinds of ammunition from BrahMos missiles to rifle bullets.

Pulgaon depot is Asia's biggest depot which functions the whole army. It is thus known as ‘mother depot’ of Indian army from where all ammunition is contrived and carried in Pulgaon and then sent to further depots. India has 39 ordnance depots which include one central ammunition depot, 7 central ordnance depots, 4 central vehicle depots, 13 regional ordnance depots, and 14 regional ammunition depots.

Accidents in depots have been recurring due to lack of safety and maintenance along with low operating procedures. India has lost a number of lives in accidents along with hundred crores in ammunition depots. The government has also given compensation as a special waiver to their families as a person has died due to battle causations
