Both the 9-digit Roll Number and the 8-digit Application Number are mandatory for security.
Check your Admit Card carefully; both are printed there and If you've lost your admit card, contact your school immediately, as they have the "Nominal Roll" records.
You can also use the MPBSE Mobile App or check via SMS by sending MPBSE10 (for class 10th) or MPBSE12 (for class 12th) <space> Roll Number to 56263.

Don’t panic—you’re not stuck. Even if you’ve forgotten your application number, you can still manage.
