Gurugram is the best in NCR in implementing Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to curb pollution. This was found in an inspection conducted by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), India on October in five cities namely Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad.

Of all cities in NCR, Gurugram recorded the highest score in implementation that is 17%. This means 17 out of 100 pollution incidents are being checked. Faridabad ranked second with 12.7% score, Delhi scored 11% followed by Noida and Ghaziabad with 10% and 9% implementation scores respectively.

It is noteworthy that Gurugram was in the news couple of months back being the second worst city in air pollution in India. In view of this, Gurugram’s effort in curbing pollution is quite appreciable.

Gurugram has taken several steps to implement the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to control air pollution. Authorities regularly enforce measures such as controlling construction dust, increasing road cleaning, restricting polluting vehicles, and promoting work-from-home during severe pollution levels. These actions help reduce pollution and improve air quality in the city.

However, it is difficult to say that Gurugram is the best in NCR in GRAP implementation because the same pollution control rules are applied across the entire Delhi-NCR region , including Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. All these cities follow similar guidelines whenever the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaches critical levels.

Overall, Gurugram is actively implementing GRAP measures to curb pollution, but improving air quality in NCR requires collective efforts from all cities in the region, along with public awareness and long-term environmental strategies.
