It seems so. We don’t need recall how many celebrity couples have chosen to have a destination wedding in Italy, Ranveer and Deepika being the most recent ones.
Although the matter of who, when, and where to marry should be left on the personal choices of celebrities, marrying in Italy can be questioned as it has become something more than a personal choice. It is as if Italian locations are a junction of supposedly secret Bollywood marriages in some cases (the marriage of Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra for example) and in others, a choice made out of peer pressure or status symbol.
These are just assumptions being made though. If we were to think of some concrete reasons, here are some positive ones which make quite a lot of sense.
For one thing, Italy breathes with the story of the romantic love of Romeo and Juliet and for another, it is the center of Renaissance. The latter means that Italy (and especially Tuscany) has many archeologically preserved villas and castles that are as ancient as they are beautiful, dating back to middle ages. Besides this,
Italy serves the best wine in the world, not to mention the delectable food you’ll find there.
Considering the beautiful location options, extraordinary catering options, and the romantic love that Italy represents, we just can’t blame Bollywood celebrities for choosing Italian grounds for their destination wedding.
Apart from all this, there is a huge wedding planning industry flourishing in Italy which have special expertise in arranging all kinds of traditional Indian weddings in the foreign land. We finally know that it was just the location that was foreign in Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding. They got married according to Sindhi and Konkani rituals.
So it can be said that Italy has well equipped itself with the best of both worlds when it comes to weddings.
