Is the written test for content writer compulsory? If yes, then what questions should we ask?

Yes, it is compulsory. It shows the writing skills of a particular candidate. And also how broad he can think innovatively. You can give a trending topic and ask him to write around 400-500 words. His writing will help you to judge better.
