Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) was launched in line with Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all.
This government health scheme aims to provide affordable and quality healthcare services to millions of economically weaker families in India. Under the program, eligible families receive health insurance coverage for major medical treatments and hospital care.
The goal of PM Jan Arogya Yojana is to improve healthcare access, reduce medical expenses, and support better health outcomes, which directly supports SDG 3’s mission of universal health coverage and better public health.
