
Books are a man’s best friend and they actually help us to understand human relations and life from different angles. Here I have tried to bring together some of the best books everyone should try to read in their lifetime. Actually while writing this I have the urge to read as many as I can of these wonderful treat. Many of these listed below have been made into movies.

1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen This book always appeared in the favorite list of novel readers. This has romance and satire in equal amount which makes it for an interesting read.
2. 1984 by George Orwell This book’s story is set in the future and depicted the political manipulations, facts and realities in the political field.
3. A tale of two Cities by Charles Dickens
This novel has shown the scenario in London and France before and after the French revolution and the reasons that led to the French revolution
4.To kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
This novel won the Pulitzer prize.Even though it handled the serious issues of rape and racial inequality it was well received by the public due to its humane approach and humor.
5.The diary of a young girl by Anne Frank
This writings of Anne frank are excerpts’ from her diary as a young girl in hiding alongwith her family for two years when the nazi was in Netherlands during world war 2.
6.“War and Peace “ by Leo Tolstoy
This novel is much loved for its realistic approach and the author wrote about the events during the time Russia was invaded by Napoleon.
7.“Lolita” by Vladimir Nabokov
This novel tells about the obsession of a professor in his thirties for a twelve year girl.
8. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
The novel is all about the struggle of a simple girl named Jane in various stages of her life.
9. Hamlet by William Shakespeare
The tragic life of the Prince of Denmark Hamlet is shown in this novel by the same name.
10. The adventures of tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
This is an American Classic by Mark Twain which has a special place in the mind of the people for creating two boy’s characters whom they could identify and who seemed very real .
