This post explores what equality really means and how educators can create it for all children they teach.
The phrase "every child deserves equal opportunities," is not one which many of us have heard. It's not something the media and government often talk about, yet for you and me as educators, it’s something we know to be true.
We believe that every child deserves equal opportunities, no matter their race/ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation or disability status. If children do not have opportunities in life they can access on an equal basis to others who grow up with more privilege then we are not creating an equitable society and ensuring fair representation in government.
