Voldemort created Horcruxes by splitting his soul into multiple parts to achieve near immortality. In total, there were seven intended Horcruxes, with eight soul fragments including the part inside his body. Each Horcrux was hidden inside a powerful object or living being.
Here are all of Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes:
- Tom Riddle’s Diary – This diary was used to open the Chamber of Secrets through Ginny Weasley at Hogwarts. It was later destroyed by Harry Potter using a basilisk fang.
- Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring – A family heirloom from Voldemort’s maternal side. It was destroyed by Albus Dumbledore, though he was cursed and seriously injured in the process.
- Salazar Slytherin’s Locket – A heavily protected Horcrux hidden and later recovered. It was destroyed by Ron Weasley using the Sword of Gryffindor.
- Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup – Hidden inside Bellatrix Lestrange’s vault in Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Hermione Granger destroyed it using a basilisk fang.
- Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem – Hidden in the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts. It was destroyed accidentally by Fiendfyre during the Battle of Hogwarts.
- Nagini (Snake) – Voldemort’s pet snake was also a Horcrux. Neville Longbottom killed her using the Sword of Gryffindor during the final battle.
- Harry Potter – Unknowingly made a Horcrux when Voldemort’s curse backfired on him as a baby. This connection played a key role in Voldemort’s downfall.
