What do you know about river Ganga?

As per Mythology, the holy river, Ganga, emerges from the hair of Lord Shiva. It is believed that bathing in the river can absolve your sins. It is formed by mixing of waters of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi at Devprayag. Maha Kumbh Mela is held at the banks of the river Ganga. Uncountable number of sages and priests get together and take holy dip. The evening Ganga Aarti in Varanasi is spellbounding.
