Consumer Protection Act was formulated in 1986 by the Parliament of India. The main purpose of the Act was to provide protection to the consumers who have been exploited by the sellers in the market. In 2019, there have been amendments made in the act. The consumer council and other people were given authorities to settle the grudges between the consumer and the seller. The act gives rights to the consumer to check and complain about the defective goods, unfair trade in the market.
