ISPS Code is a measure set to amplify the security of ship as well as port facilities. It was specially built with the aim of preventing threats to the ports as well as ship facilities post 9/11 attacks. The ISPS Code is specially designed for Safety of Life at Sea Convention (SOLAS) & this compliance is mandatory for contracting parties to SOLAS. The ISPS Code was developed on 12th December , 2002 by the Conference of Contracting Governments. IMO stands for International Maritime Organization is the United Nations specialized agency specially built with responsibility for the security as well as safety of ships & ports. The IMO is responsible for the prevention of marine & shipping atmosphere. All activities conducted by IMO are supported by the United Nations.
