What is karwa chauth?

karwa chauth is a Hindu festival celebrated by women in India for the long life of their husbands.It is celebrated in the Kartik month every year on the fourth day after the purnima.The ladies remain in fasting the whole day,even they don’t drink water.Ladies apply mehendi on hands.In the evening they wear beautiful dresses,wear ornaments & do all sort of makeup & go to temples & perform the rituals.At night they wait for the moon to appear,after seeing the moon the husband with his hands make her wife drink water.It is a festival which builds a strong bonding between husband & wife.
