Mitochondria are the powerhouse of your cells that help make food and turn it into energy. They carry their own DNA, which is why they can have their own unique characteristics. Mitochondria are also involved in human aging, cell death, and more. Mitochondria have their own chromosomes. The energy which is produced through mitochondria are then converted within the cells. All the cells which are present have different mitochondira so as to produce energy.
