Photosynthesis can be defined as the process where plants and other organisms use light energy and convert them into chemical energy. In most of the plants, these plants release oxygen as a form of waste which is inhaled by the human living for survival. Most of the plants and algae perform photosynthesis in the presence of sunlight and are also known as photoautotrophs. The process of photosynthesis is the key thing which is maintaining the flow of oxygen on the Earth.

As the name suggests, Photosynthesis is made of two words namely 'Photo means Light' and Synthesis means To Make. It means to make in presence of light. Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.
