Private enterprise is a synonym for the term business. Private enterprise typically refers to private ownership within a market, and it does not necessarily need to be limited to one country. There are particular types of private enterprises that are defined by how they provide goods and services, rather than their ownership or location. These include: family-owned businesses, partnerships, public corporations etc. Private enterprises also have particular features that differ depending on the type of owner and the type of enterprise itself.
