An individual's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are largely influenced by their own values and by the various interactions they have with other people. Psychology is a popular academic discipline that studies behavior within a variety of environments to understand why individuals behave the way they do. The science of psychology includes theories related to biology, social relationships, learning, memory and creativity. Regardless of what behaviors you may be interested in studying in particular or how far you plan on going into a career like this, psychology courses offer valuable insight into human nature as well as ethical dilemmas faced by those interacting with others on a regular basis.

Psychology is based on three different but related principles: Behaviorism, Cognitive Behaviorism and Gestalt Psychology.
