Both Directory submission and article submission are Off page seo activities for ranking.In directory submission you submit the URL of your company website along with some details about your firm and then in article submission websites, you can submit your articles with fresh content,it can be interesting articles eith common topics,or anything related to your business,For SEO ranking we could add relevant keywords that is linking to your website.Try to avoid keyword stuffing

Directory submission is the process for submission of the URL with Title to rank your URL, on the other hand, article submission is the process to submit an article on the particular topic on the website with your referral URL.

So this is all about directory submission and bookmarking in short.
