2. Debate has two different opposing sides while discussion has no side.

3. Debate has a conclusion and discussion may not be end with conclusion.

4. Debate is done in formal manner while discussion are not in much formal way.

5. Debates are compititive in nature while discussion are Cooperative in nature.
