The difference between percentage and percentile is pretty straightforward but often confused:
Percentage is a value out of 100. For example, if you score 75 marks out of 100 on a test, your percentage is 75%. It’s just a way to represent proportions.
Percentile, on the other hand, tells you your relative standing compared to others. For example, if you’re in the 90th percentile, it means you scored better than 90% of people in that group. It’s about ranking, not the actual score.
Think of it this way: Percentage is about your score, while Percentile is about how you compare. Hope that clears it up!
