The basic difference between a college and a university is that a college just offers two-year or three-year undergraduate courses, like Bachelors.


While Universities, are affiliated to offer a wide range of courses including undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses, M.phil, ph.D, and so on. Universities also host various research scholars which may also be foreign exchange students.

For example, IIT, JNU, DU, Punjab University are the universities of India. Whereas, Hindu College, St. Stephen's College, Zakir Hussain College, and Hansraj College are just colleges affiliated to the University of Delhi.
